Levoit Review: The Air Purifiers to Buy in 2026

Levoit’s best value is still the plain Core 300-P, not the app-connected versions. Here is what filters really cost each year, which models reviewers say fail after two years, and which humidifier to avoid.

We may earn a commission if you buy through our links, once we join a brand's program. It never changes a call. How that works.

Skip the upgrade
Skip the smart Core 300S-P. It costs $149.99 against $99.99 for the Core 300-P, rates lower on Levoit’s own site, and reviewers report buzzing sensors and smart-plug trouble.
Best time to buy
Check the Core 300-P first: it was 10% off at $89.99 in late October. Levoit’s sale page held mostly vacuums, fans and wildfire filter bundles, and students can verify for a discount.

Levoit sells budget air purifiers and humidifiers through its own US store, with free shipping, a 30-day money-back window and a two-year limited warranty. Prices run from $44.99 for a desk purifier to $499.99 for the EverestAir-P.

The purifier is only half the cost. Each model takes its own filter, from $29.99 for the Core 300 to $59.99 for the Core 600S-P, and Levoit sells them on subscription. Our advice: buy the plainest model that covers your room, skip app control unless you will use it, register the warranty, and keep the box for 30 days. Levoit’s returns require a return authorization and the original packaging, and more than one reviewer who threw the box away could not send theirs back.

Levoit Core® 300-P Air Purifier

$99.99 White or black; 10% off at $89.99 on the product page in late October.

Levoit’s best-known purifier, with a 143 CFM clean air delivery rate and the cheapest replacement filter in the range.

The Core 300-P is the plain version of Levoit’s bestseller: a compact cylinder with a 3-stage filter, a sleep mode as low as 24 decibels and no app. Levoit rates it for 222 square feet at 4.8 air changes an hour, the standard for allergy use, or 1,066 square feet at one change an hour. Replacement Original filters cost $29.99, and pet, toxin and smoke versions run $35.99 to $39.99.

It averages 4.36 from 97 reviews on Levoit’s site. Sorted lowest first, the complaints are noise and filters: a howling or ringing sound that develops over time, and new filters that smelled of cardboard straight out of the box. Several two-star owners also saw no change in dust or pet odor.

Good

  • Cheapest replacement filter in Levoit’s purifier range
  • Sleep mode as low as 24dB
  • Specialist pet and smoke filters available

Not so good

  • Reviewers report a ringing noise developing over time
  • Some new filters arrived smelling of cardboard

From the product page

  • CADR 143 CFM
  • Room size 222 sq ft at 4.8 ACH
  • Noise 24 to 54.5dB

Levoit Vital 200S-P Smart Air Purifier

$189.99 Listed price in October; the black and white-grey versions are $199.99 on separate pages.

A 250 CFM app-connected purifier for rooms up to about 390 square feet, and the best-reviewed model we checked.

The Vital 200S-P pushes 250 CFM, rated for 388 square feet at 4.8 air changes an hour, with a 23-decibel floor and VeSync app control with Alexa and Google Assistant. It averages 4.38 from 153 reviews, the most of any Levoit purifier we checked. Filters cost $49.99 and Levoit says they last six to twelve months.

Read the filter wording carefully. The page says the Original filter is HEPA-grade while operating in Sleep Mode, as tested by an independent lab, not at every speed. Low reviews mention filters being sold out, indicator lights that failed after two years, and an app that demands constant location access before enabling some features.

Good

  • Most-reviewed Levoit purifier, 4.38 from 153
  • Twice the airflow of the Core 300-P

Not so good

  • Filter is described as HEPA-grade only in Sleep Mode
  • Reviewers report filters sold out

From the product page

  • CADR 250 CFM
  • Room size 388 sq ft at 4.8 ACH
  • Rated power 50W

Levoit Core® Mini-P Air Purifier

$49.99 White was $44.99 in October; green and black stayed at $49.99.

A two-pound personal purifier with an aroma pad, sized for the space around one person, not a whole room.

The Mini-P is a desk or bedside unit: 34 CFM, 2.2 pounds, 25 to 44 decibels, and an aromatherapy pad for essential oils. Levoit rates it for 53 square feet at 4.8 air changes an hour, so it is a personal-space purifier rather than a room purifier, and the reviews show buyers who missed that.

It averages 4.16 from 77 reviews. The lowest are from people who expected it to clear pet odor or ragweed pollen from a whole bedroom, and from buyers who could not return it after discarding the box. One owner found the filter cover impossible to open at changeover, another received it without the power adapter. If your room is larger than a desk corner, spend the extra $50 on the Core 300-P.

Good

  • Cheapest purifier Levoit sells
  • Small and quiet enough for a nightstand

Not so good

  • Rated for just 53 sq ft at 4.8 ACH
  • Reviewers say it does little for pet odor

From the product page

  • CADR 34 CFM
  • Room size 53 sq ft at 4.8 ACH
  • Weight 2.2 lb
  • Noise 25 to 44dB

Levoit Core® 600S-P Smart Air Purifier

$299.99 No discount was shown in late October.

Levoit’s big-room purifier, 391 CFM for about 600 square feet, with a cluster of reviews saying it died soon after the warranty ended.

The Core 600S-P is the large-room option: 391 CFM, rated for 606 square feet at 4.8 air changes an hour, 13.7 pounds, with app control and a 26-decibel floor. Its Original filter costs $59.99. It averages 4.32 from 107 reviews.

We would wait for a promotion because of what the lowest reviews say. In October several owners reported units that stopped working at or just after two years, and described Levoit refusing help because the two-year warranty had expired; others said warranty claims required photos, video and shipping the whole unit back. Touch buttons and Wi-Fi reconnection after a router change also feature. At full price, that pattern makes the warranty date worth writing down.

Good

  • Highest airflow in the mid-priced range
  • App control and a 26dB sleep floor

Not so good

  • Several reviewers say units failed around the two-year mark
  • Warranty claims described as slow and demanding

From the product page

  • CADR 391 CFM
  • Room size 606 sq ft at 4.8 ACH
  • Weight 13.7 lb
  • Filter Original, $59.99

05Good buyBest for: Whole-floor winter dryness

Superior 6000S Smart Evaporative Humidifier

$249.99 No discount was shown in late October.

A 6-gallon evaporative humidifier you can fill with tap water, rated for up to 3,000 square feet.

The 6000S is an evaporative humidifier, which means wick filters rather than an ultrasonic plate, and Levoit says it runs on plain tap water; one owner in Las Vegas says it does so without leaving fine white dust. It holds six gallons, runs up to 72 hours on low, covers up to 3,000 square feet and comes with a hose and funnel for filling from the sink. A four-pack of replacement wicks costs $39.99, and a Dry Mode helps them last longer.

The caveat is evidence. Levoit’s page showed only eight reviews, averaging 4.38. The lowest, two stars, came from an owner who needed consistently high humidity for a medical condition and found the output inadequate. If you need a specific humidity level, confirm the room size first.

Good

  • Designed to run on tap water
  • Six-gallon tank, up to 72 hours on low

Not so good

  • Only eight reviews on Levoit’s site
  • One reviewer found its output too low

From the product page

  • Tank 6 gal
  • Coverage up to 3,000 sq ft
  • Noise 28 to 45dB
  • Wick filters 4-pack, $39.99

Levoit LV600HH Hybrid Ultrasonic Humidifier

$99.99 White or black, no discount shown in October.

A warm- and cool-mist ultrasonic humidifier with a long reliability complaint list and the lowest rating of any Levoit product we checked.

On paper the LV600HH is good value: a 1.5-gallon tank, up to 36 hours of runtime, warm or cool mist, an aroma pad and a remote, covering 430 to 753 square feet. It is also Levoit’s lowest-rated model in our sample, 3.76 from 127 reviews, with 37 of them at one or two stars.

The complaints repeat over several years: units that stop producing mist after one season, fans that grind loudly after two years, a humidity sensor stuck at 90%, a mold smell after a year, and cracked tanks with no replacement part available. One owner who bought it at a major retailer says Levoit could not identify the unit and offered $30 instead of a warranty replacement. Spend more on the evaporative 6000S, or less on a simpler model.

Good

  • Warm and cool mist with a remote
  • Up to 36 hours per tank

Not so good

  • Repeated reports of mist failure after a season
  • Reviewers could not buy a replacement tank

From the product page

  • Tank 1.5 gal
  • Runtime up to 36 hours
  • Coverage 430 to 753 sq ft
  • Weight 6.5 lb

What customers say

On Levoit’s own site the picks above average between 3.76 and 4.38 stars, with the Vital 200S-P on top at 4.38 from 153 reviews and the LV600HH humidifier at the bottom with 3.76 from 127. Trustpilot is much harsher: 2.0 from 109 reviews on an unclaimed profile, 61% one-star, and Trustpilot notes Levoit has never invited reviews.

Sorted lowest first, the patterns are units that stop working near the two-year warranty limit, warranty claims that ask for photos, video and a return shipment, a filter subscription that prepared another shipment after it was cancelled, and machines that develop a ringing or rattling noise. Some Trustpilot complaints come from UK buyers about a local courier, which does not apply to US orders. Positive reviews praise quiet operation and value.

Low prices, free shipping and cheap filters make Levoit hard to beat on value, but a two-year warranty, a 30-day return window and a 2.0 Trustpilot score drag it down.

If Levoit is not it

  • DREO. Choose it instead if Trustpilot reputation weighs most for you; dreo.com rated 4.1 from 336 reviews in October against Levoit’s 2.0.
  • Blueair. Choose it instead if you want a different filter design, but do not expect better service; it also scored 1.7 on Trustpilot in October.

Questions, answered

How much do Levoit replacement filters cost?

It depends on the model. On Levoit’s US site in October the Core 300 Original filter was $29.99, the Vital 200S-P filter $49.99, and the Core 600S-P Original filter $59.99. Pet, toxin and smoke versions cost more. Levoit says the Vital 200S-P filter lasts six to twelve months, so budget at least one filter a year on top of the purifier price.

Can I return a Levoit purifier I do not like?

Yes, inside 30 days of delivery, as long as Levoit support issues a return authorization first, and the product must go back in its original packaging with all accessories and a copy of the invoice. Levoit then emails a prepaid label. Once Levoit receives the item, a refund can take up to 30 days. After 30 days only warranty claims are possible, so keep the box.

Does the Levoit warranty cover units bought at other stores?

Only if the seller is authorized. Levoit’s two-year limited warranty applies to the original purchaser and excludes products bought from unauthorized dealers. Registration is optional. Several low reviews describe frustrating warranty claims for units bought at large retailers, including requests for videos and offers of small payouts rather than replacements, so keep your receipt.
