Nuna Review: The Strollers and Seats to Buy in 2026

Nuna’s gear is expensive, but the same stroller can cost $225 less in the right color. Here is which seat to buy, which colorway to pick, and why the warranty clock matters more than the badge.

We may earn a commission if you buy through our links, once we join a brand's program. It never changes a call. How that works.

Nuna is a premium baby gear brand, and its US store at nunababy.com sells car seats, strollers, playards, high chairs and even cashmere baby clothes direct, with free standard shipping. Prices sit at the top of the mainstream market: an infant seat with base is $550, a convertible seat $580, and most MIXX next strollers $900.

The detail that matters for value is hidden in the color picker. The same TRVL stroller lists at $575 in Caviar and $350 in Sterling, and a MIXX next in Pine was $674.99 against $900 for most colors. Nuna’s own reviews are glowing and many are from sampling programs; Trustpilot tells a harsher story about warranty claims. Our advice: buy the RAVA next, pick the cheapest in-stock color of anything else, and register every seat.

The lineup, model by model

01Smart buyBest for: Birth to big-kid car rides

RAVA next

$580 Most colors; LoveShackFancy is $600 and Sterling $525, both out of stock in October.

A convertible car seat that runs rear-facing from 5 pounds and forward-facing to 65, which spreads its price over years.

The RAVA next rides rear-facing from 5 to 50 pounds on the seat belt and forward-facing from 30 to 65, so one purchase can cover most of the car-seat years. Nuna lists a steel-reinforced frame and belt path, True tension doors that clamp the seat belt for you, side impact pods, a no-rethread harness and a slim shell it says fits three across in most mid-sized vehicles. It is certified to FMVSS 213a and 213b.

The weaknesses are practical. At 26.5 pounds it is not a seat to swap between cars daily, and one owner misses a level indicator for checking the angle. Older RAVA seats made between July 2016 and October 2023 were recalled over a harness adjuster, and Nuna’s recall page covers those earlier model numbers. Most on-site reviews are five stars, several from a free-sample program.

Upside

  • Rear-facing to 50 lb, forward-facing to 65 lb
  • Seat belt install clamps with True tension doors
  • Slim enough for three across in many mid-sized cars

Downside

  • Heavy at 26.5 lb for moving between cars
  • One owner misses an on-seat level indicator

The numbers

  • Rear-facing 5-50 lb on seat belt
  • Forward-facing 30-65 lb on seat belt
  • Seat weight 26.5 lb
  • Standards FMVSS 213a and 213b

02Good buyBest for: Newborns and taxi riders

PIPA rx + PIPA RELX base

$550 Granite and Caviar-Chocolate. Caviar listed at $409.99 but showed out of stock.

A 7.6-pound infant seat with a reclining load-leg base that also installs baseless with a seat belt.

The PIPA rx carries babies from 4 to 30 pounds and 16 to 30 inches. The shell weighs 7.6 pounds before the canopy and insert, and it can go into a taxi with just the vehicle belt. In the family car it clicks into the RELX base, which reclines in four positions, has a steel stability leg with a crumple zone, and shows green indicators when the latch and leg are seated. It clicks onto any Nuna stroller without adapters, and Nuna says it is FAA certified.

The low-rated reviews are few but pointed: one family found the seat hot and their baby sweaty after a short drive, and another received a cracked shell, then a replacement that was only the bottom frame. Note the shorter cover: PIPA infant seats get a one-year warranty, half what Nuna gives most gear.

Upside

  • Light shell, 7.6 lb without canopy and insert
  • Installs baseless with a seat belt for taxis
  • Load leg and green install indicators on the base

Downside

  • One-year warranty, not the two years most Nuna gear gets
  • A complaint about heat and a sweaty baby after short drives

The numbers

  • Child range 4-30 lb, 16-30 in
  • Seat weight 7.6 lb without canopy and insert
  • Base 4 recline positions, stability leg
  • Aircraft FAA certified

03Good buyBest for: Travel and city errands

TRVL

from $350 Sterling, in stock. Ocean lists at $450 and Caviar at $575, same stroller.

A 13.6-pound self-folding stroller that takes a PIPA seat with no adapter, and a bargain only in the right color.

Press a button on the push bar and the TRVL folds itself into a free-standing package of 24 by 20.25 by 11 inches with the arm bar off, which Nuna suggests gate-checking in the included carry bag. It weighs 13.6 pounds without canopy and arm bar, carries children to 50 pounds, and clicks onto PIPA infant seats directly. It shares the magnetic MagneTech buckle with pricier Nuna strollers, and the canopy is UPF 50+.

The color is the whole value question. Sterling was $350 and in stock in October; Caviar was $575 for the identical frame. Reviews on Nuna’s site are strong, but the lowest-rated recent one says unfolding with one hand was harder than expected and switching the seat from upright to lie-flat was fiddly. Check overhead-bin rules with your airline rather than assuming it fits.

Upside

  • Self-folds at the push of a button
  • PIPA seats click on with no adapter
  • $225 less in Sterling than in Caviar

Downside

  • Some owners find one-handed unfolding awkward
  • Recline adjustments described as fiddly

The numbers

  • Weight 13.6 lb without canopy and arm bar
  • Folded 24 x 20.25 x 11 in
  • Child limit up to 50 lb
  • Canopy UPF 50+, water repellent

04Wait for a saleBest for: Everyday full-size stroller

MIXX next

$900 Most colors. Pine was $674.99 and in stock; Edgehill was $650 but sold out.

Nuna’s all-terrain full-size stroller with a reversible seat and all-wheel suspension, worth buying only below its $900 list.

The MIXX next is the stroller for parents who walk a lot. Its seat faces either way, reclines flat in five positions, and swaps to an all-season mesh back in summer. Rear Free Flex suspension and puncture-proof tires handle rough sidewalks, and it folds in one piece with the seat facing either direction, then stands on its own. A ring adapter for PIPA seats is included; the bassinet costs extra.

It is a big piece of kit at 28.3 pounds. Low-rated reviews on Nuna’s site mention squeaky wheels and a lack of accessories such as a ride-on board. On Trustpilot, one parent who bought the MIXX next with a PIPA rx describes a canopy that broke before first use and acted up again within weeks. Because some colors run $225 or more below list, there is little reason to pay $900.

Upside

  • Reversible seat with true-flat recline
  • All-wheel suspension and puncture-proof tires
  • PIPA ring adapter included

Downside

  • Heavy at 28.3 lb
  • Reports of squeaky wheels and canopy faults

The numbers

  • Weight 28.3 lb without arm bar and insert
  • Folded 27.5 x 23.6 x 19 in
  • Child limit birth to 50 lb
  • Recline five positions, true flat

05Good buyBest for: Travel crib with bassinet

PAAL

$400 Biscotti, Caviar and Granite were in stock; LoveShackFancy lists at $420.

A playard and travel crib with a removable bassinet, washable mattress and zip-open side door, at a premium price.

The PAAL is a playard that doubles as a travel crib. A removable bassinet serves babies to 15 pounds, about five months, and the playard runs to 35 inches tall. The mattress is fully washable, the sheet is GOTS-certified organic cotton, and a side panel zips open, with a clip lock, so a crawler can climb in and out during play. It folds to 13 by 11 inches, and owners mention an included travel bag.

There are no one- to three-star reviews on Nuna’s page, so the weaknesses come from four-star ones: the frame lock is hard to engage, the 19.8-pound weight feels heavy for something sold as portable, and one owner says the fabric picks up stains easily. At $400 it costs several times a basic play yard, so buy it for the bassinet and washable mattress, not the label.

Upside

  • Washable mattress and organic cotton sheet included
  • Zip-open side door for crawlers

Downside

  • Heavy for a travel crib at 19.8 lb
  • Owners describe a stiff lock and stain-prone fabric

The numbers

  • Bassinet birth to 15 lb
  • Playard birth to 35 in tall
  • Weight 19.8 lb without bassinet
  • Folded 13 x 11 x 28.5 in

06PassBest for: Quiet, motor-free rocking

LEAF grow

$299

A battery-free swaying seat that converts to a toddler chair, and the lowest-rated Nuna product we read.

The LEAF grow sways side to side with no motor, batteries or cords. Nuna says a gentle push keeps it moving for up to two minutes. It has three recline positions, a GOTS organic insert, and a seat that later becomes a chair for children up to 130 pounds. The toy bar is sold separately.

That two-minute sway is exactly what the low reviews pick at. Parents describe pushing it again and again while trying to cook or clean, a baby who did not much like it, and one who felt it held a newborn in an awkward hunched posture. Its rating on Nuna’s own site trails the brand’s other gear by a wide margin. Nuna’s instructions also say the harnessed stage ends at about five months, so the expensive part of its life is short.

Upside

  • Silent, motor-free sway with no batteries
  • Converts to a big-kid chair later

Downside

  • Needs a fresh push every couple of minutes
  • Toy bar costs extra at this price

The numbers

  • Motion manual sway, up to 2 minutes
  • Recline three positions
  • Chair stage up to 130 lb
  • Insert GOTS organic cotton

What customers say

Nuna’s Bazaarvoice reviews are close to perfect: the RAVA next averaged 4.96 from 55 reviews and the PIPA rx about 4.9 from 138 when we read them. Look closely and several reviewers say they got the product free through a sampling program, and many five-star entries have no text at all. The LEAF grow, around 4.3, is the outlier.

Trustpilot rates nunababy.com 1.8 out of 5, “Poor”. The recent reviews are mostly from Canada and Europe, and the theme is warranty handling: months without replies, replacement parts promised and not sent, a frayed PIPA harness strap refused as physical damage, and a TRIV next frame that snapped after three years, just out of warranty. Nuna’s UK team answers almost every review, often only to say it will pass the case to another country’s team. US buyers deal with a separate concierge team, so read the warranty terms before you buy.

If Nuna is not it

  • UPPAbaby. Choose it instead if you want a full-size stroller system with a bigger accessory range, such as ride-on boards.
  • Clek. Choose it instead if you want a narrow, rigid convertible seat built for three-across installs.
  • Graco. Choose it instead if you want a capable convertible car seat at a far lower price.

Quick questions

Why is the same Nuna stroller cheaper in some colors?

Nuna’s US store prices each colorway separately. In October the TRVL listed at $575 in Caviar, $450 in Ocean and $350 in Sterling, and the MIXX next ran from $674.99 in Pine to $1,030 for a patterned edition. The frames and features are the same; only the fabric differs. Cheaper colors can sell out, so check stock on the day you buy.

Is my RAVA car seat part of the recall?

Nuna’s recall page covers RAVA seats made between July 16, 2016 and October 25, 2023, listing the affected model numbers, over debris that can stop the front harness adjuster gripping the strap. Owners can order a free remedy kit with a new seat pad and cleaning kit, and should run the harness function test Nuna describes. If the harness does not hold, stop using the seat and contact Nuna.

Can I return Nuna gear bought from another store to Nuna?

No. Nuna’s return policy applies only to items bought from Nuna US, within 60 days, new and unused. Anything from a retail partner goes back under that store’s own policy. The warranty is different: it covers gear from authorized retailers, but excludes second owners and gear bought from unauthorized sellers, so keep your receipt and register the product.

How long is the Nuna warranty?

Two years from the purchase date on most gear, according to Nuna’s US help center. PIPA infant car seats, bassinets and accessories get one year, and spare parts carry no warranty at all. Claims go by email with photos of the problem and the serial label plus a receipt. Normal wear, airline damage and seats involved in an accident are excluded.
